CWP On-Line Renewal
Name Change and/or Change of Address
Before you start the renewal process you will need a photo (jpeg., pdf. or png file) of your valid Drivers License or Government Issued ID, on the computer being used to submit your on-line renewal. (There is an option to submit the copy of your valid SC Drivers License or Government Issued ID by Mail. The address is listed below (See Step 11).
For Change of Address or Name Change you will need a photo (jpeg., pdf. or png file) of your valid Drivers License or Government Issued ID, with the updated Address and/or Name change.
You will also need to have your CWP number and your Social Security number available.
After completing each page, at the bottom of most pages select "GO" to advance to next page.
Instructions highlighted in Yellow indicate action required by you.
We are providing This Guide to help SC CWP Holders navigate the on-line renewal process. The process for updating the Address and/or Name on your CWP is similar to the renewal. You will need to make changes to the Name and/or address on the appropriate pages. At this time we have not assisted any of our CWP students with a Name or Address Change, so we have not been able to verify each step in that process. We have attempted to provide an easy to understand guide. If you find any errors in our guide please let us know.

Guide for On-Line CWP Renewal, Address and/or Name Change
Step 1: Go to the SLED Website-
(Copy & Paste the following web address in your Browser): https://www.sled.sc.gov/cwp#newrenew
Step 2: Click in the Box the that says " [ CLICK HERE FOR ONLINE CWP NEW, RENEWALS & REPLACEMENTS. IdentoGo ]
Step 3: Under "FOR NEW APPOINTMENTS"
Click on [ SCHEDULE NEW APPOINTMENT ]
Step 4: At the top of this page, at the end of the statement...
"If you are a Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Applicant, Click "here."
Click on... "here."
Step 5: Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Application
*For Renewal, Select: "CWP Renewal Application- I have a valid Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) that is expiring."
(Select this option even if your CWP Permit has recently expired).
If the CWP has been expired for an excessive period of time, you will be notified if your renewal is delayed after completion of the renewal application. If you are notified of a delay in processing you may have to contact SLED for assistance. (Contact Phone Number is located at the end of these instructions.)
*For Change of Address, Select "CWP Replacement Application - My permit is lost, stolen, damaged, destroyed or my information has changed and I need a replacement permit."
Click "Go>" to advance to the next page
Step 6: Review Required documents for CWP Renewal

Step 7: Application Details
Enter your CWP Number
Enter your Social Security Number
Click "Go>" to advance to the next page
Step 8: Verify Applicant Details
Name, Date of Birth, Type of Service, & CWP Number, (Classification is None)
Click on Correct Applicant, continue
Step 9: Applicant Certification of Information
Answer all questions.(Read Carefully) Any "NO" Answers may indicate that you are not eligible to renew your CWP on-line.
Type Your Initials in the box to certify the information you have provided is correct.
Click "Go>" to advance to the next page
Step 10: Section 1: Proof of Identity
Select: My State Driver's License or Gov. issued ID is valid and current. ( Provided that it is. )
(Valid ID id required for renewal)
Section 2: Classification Status
Answer questions (Read Carefully) Any "Yes" Answers will require contacting S.L.E.D. for additional
paper work and/or on-line CWP renewal eligibility assessment.
Click "Go>" to advance to the next page
Step 11: CWP Required Documents
*SC Drivers License or Gov. Issued Photo ID
Select: "I have my documents and will complete my CWP renewal by uploading the required documents."
(If you do not have a PDF, jpeg or png file version of your ID, there is an option to mail in the documents, if needed.)
*For replacement CWP the ID must have the updated Name and/or address.
If you are submitting the copy of your SC Drivers License by Mail, send it to the following address:

Step 12: Upload Required Documents
Click on "Choose File" and select the document to upload.
*SC Drivers License or Gov. Issued Photo ID
(The copy of your Valid Gov. ID must be on your computer to be uploaded.)
The accepted file formats are: PDF, jpeg and png.
* File name should appear next to "Choose File" once it is uploaded.

Step 13: Applicant Information
Verify that your Name is correct.
Answer Residential Status
Verify Address
Verify Mailing Address
*If same as qualifying address: check box.
*If Different from Qualifying Address: Enter Mailing Address
Verify Phone Number
Enter Email address (Optional)
Verify Applicant Demographic Data
Step 14: YOUR REGISTRATION IS NOT YET COMPLETE
Review and Verify Applicant Details
*Verify Address and/or Name Change if applicable.
*Information on your Government issued Photo ID must match the information on your CWP.
*If the information does not match, your CWP is not valid.
After verifying the information is correct:
Put your Initials the box at the bottom of the page.
Click "Go>" to advance to the next page
Step 15: Registration is Complete:
Print a copy of the renewal submission or Save as a PDF
You will receive your new CWP ID within 90 days.
If for any reason your application is denied, you will receive notification within 90 days.
Click "Done" to advance to the next page
Step 16: Click continue to end your session and clear your data. Please ensure you have saved/recorded your registration information.
Congratulations - You have completed the On-Line CWP Renewal, Name, and/or Address change process.
There is no fee for CWP Renewal.
